It is our great pleasure and honour to invite you to the 6th CROATIAN ONCOLOGY CONGRESS, the largest Croatian oncology meeting.

It is our wish for the sixth time, and for the second time in cooperation with the Croatian Society for Internal Medicine Oncology of the Croatian Medical Association, to gather the majority of Croatian oncologists from all fields of this important and large part of the medical and public-health activity. We will also give a chance to young Croatian oncologists to learn and to actively participate in lectures, discussions at round tables and posters and in that way gain much-needed experience. Once more, famous specialists from the USA and Europe have been invited as lecturers. We wish to emphasize that previous congresses have by large contributed to the development of the Croatian oncology and we believe that you share our opinion. This time as well our topic will be translational medicine and due to topic's relevance and very successful first symposium, held in cooperation with the Croatian Society of Gastroenterology at the beginning of 2011 in Zagreb, we will extend our topic on digestive tract tumours.

We are looking forward to have with us once more the nurses and medical radiology engineers, who will hold their symposiums within the Congress – the 17th Symposium of the Oncology Haematology Association of the Croatian Nurses Association and the 5th Oncology Symposium of Medical Radiology Engineers, both with international participation. This successful cooperation will certainly be continued at forthcoming meetings and we will try to improve it furthermore, above all in common appearances with nurses and radiology technologists, which in fact we are already doing during everyday work.

To every health-care worker who is in any way involved in oncology and meets oncologic patients through his/her work, the programme of the 6th CROATIAN ONCOLOGY CONGRESS will offer useful topics, a chance to enrich his/her knowledge, exchange experiences, refresh acquaintances and make new ones in the stone city of Dubrovnik.

Summaries

We invite doctors with clinical experience, to register their posters regarding above-mentioned topics and briefly orally present their results in clinical and research work.

Deadline for summaries’ receipt: 15 December 2011

On-time submitted summaries are going to be published in the book of summaries. All summaries for posters will be examined by the members of the Scientific Committee who will choose the most interesting ones for brief oral presentation (5 minutes) at the Congress. Top three posters will be financially awarded.

Instructions for writing summaries

Summaries of lectures and posters should be submitted on one A4 sheet, with single-spacing and include title, authors (full name and surname), institute address and brief outline. Please send your summaries to e-mail address morana.simat@gmail.com and danijela.curcic@penta-zagreb.hr until 15 December 2011 at the latest.

Poster stand dimensions are 200 cm (height) x 100 cm (width), method of putting up posters: adhesive tape. The posters are put up on 29 March 2012 from 09:00 am to 10:00 am and taken off on 31 March 2012 from 06:00 pm to 08:00 pm.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

The Congress participants will be accommodated at special prices at the Valamar Lacroma Hotel and the Argosy Hotel in Dubrovnik. The stated prices for one person per day include overnight stay with breakfast buffet and tourist tax with the possibility of additional payment for mentioned four lunches and two dinners at the Valamar Lacroma Hotel at special price (drinks not included).

Reservations for hotel services are made on enclosed application form (one for both registration and accommodation), and applications will be admitted until 15 February 2012 at the latest. Afterwards, accommodation reservations will be confirmed according to the availability of the hotel rooms. At Zagreb and Dubrovnik Airports the passengers are obliged to check in at 'check-in' desks at least 60 minutes before the plane departure.

The price of return plane ticket per person (valid on the day of programme printing and subject to changes) with all airport taxes and fees and costs of issuing tickets amounts to 1,300 kn or 178 EUR. Every change or cancellation after the issuing of plane ticket is additionally charged according to the conditions of the airline at that moment.

We point out that all participants of the Congress who make reservations for and buy their plane tickets for some of the above mentioned combinations of destinations from technical organiser of the Congress – the Agency Penta d.o.o. - will have free bus transport from Dubrovnik Airport to the hotel and vice-versa.

For travellers who ordered their plane ticket through Penta d.o.o., on the day of departure from Dubrovnik, the bus from both hotels leaves for Dubrovnik Airport 1 hour and 45 minutes prior to airplane departure.

For all other individual airplane tickets for other dates, according to participants’ choice, reservations can be made and they can be bought from the technical organiser of the Congress – the Agency Penta d.o.o.- , under prices and conditions which are valid at the time of their issuing.

Transport prices could be changed until the moment of issuing airplane tickets.

The airfares are paid within 72 hours after the reservation has been made.

For participants from Serbia we recommend flights Beograd-Tivat and vice-versa, with the possibility of organising transport to and from the hotel in Dubrovnik. You can obtain all information from the technical organiser of the Congress – the Agency Penta d.o.o.

PAYMENT

Prices of all services related to the Congress are stated in kunas and euros according to the exchange rate on 03 May 2011. In case of change of the exchange rate or other important factors, the technical organiser retains the right to change the prices.

Services are confirmed in line with the dates of reservation and payment receipt according to the method 'who first, picks'.
